Rev. Kevin D. Barnes, Sr. was born and raised in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. He is
married to the lovely Brenda Barnes and is the father of three sons: Kevin Jr., Keith,
and Kenneth Barnes. In July 1986, Pastor Barnes received his license to preach and
delivered his first sermon at his home church, White Oak Grove in Oakland, CA. Pastor
Barnes attended the Bay Cities Bible Institute and the Sacramento Theological Seminary
Bible College, and was later ordained a minister of the Gospel. He was elected pastor
of the Abyssinian Missionary Baptist Church in Oakland, CA in January 1992. Since
being elected Pastor, his primary focus has been winning souls and encouraging the
people of God.
