"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds: casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ: And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled." (II Corinthians 10:4-6)

The main reason why people who are saved and who are not seeing themselves used regularly by the Lord to win the lost stems from a problem in the mind. The battlefield is the mind. And whatsoever thoughts control us will determine our action toward the things of God! The devil is a liar and very subtle at getting the believer to accept his lies over God's truths.

I. Evaluate Present Attitude toward Soul-Winning

What are you telling yourself concerning why you don't or do very little about getting the gospel out? How did you come to those thoughts? Talk over your present mindset with someone that you know is an effective soul-winner.

II. Acquire Wholesome Attitudes Toward Soul-Winning

Whatever we allow to consume our thoughts―good or bad―will determine our actions. Therefore, in order to become a soul-winner we must acquire soul-winning thoughts.

A. Pray all the time about becoming a soul-winner. That puts confidence in God, and that prayer will be answered.

B. Read Bible chapters where Jesus (the greatest soul-winner) won people to Himself.

C. Memorize soul-winning verses.
D. Talk about soul-winning when you are at church instead of gossiping about people.

E. Practice on people who are already saved.

Remember, soul-winning is the will of God, therefore, the devil will try to defeat you in this area. Be driven by love for God and for people instead of duty. Also remember someone came to you and someone is waiting for you to come to them. Don't forget, there is a soul-winning crown given at the Bema Seat.
