Being a pastor has been the most humbling, challenging, fulfilling, and wonderful calling of my life. Those who minister will never do so without some failures, because they are not holy as He is. God's grace, however, is sufficient to forgive those frailties. But those who cover up a lifestyle of sin behind the fa?ade of sacred ministry must be confronted and removed.

Many enter the ministry to get something out of it, not to be accountable stewards of God's Word. Some enter to get encouragement, to feel importance, to feel useful to God, to solve problems, others enter for prestige or power. Good or bad, none of these are adequate reasons. None will last over time and trial.

Stained glass windows are a lot like pastors. They're really good at hiding stormy weather. They always look beautiful; they always appear inspirational; you can even get them to glisten when it's pitch black outside by shining manufactured light through them. Stained glass, like pastors, appears to be immune from the roughness of life. But they're not--unless they're well protected.
